A Few New Travel Destinations For 2017

The travel industry is set to boom in 2017. With the U.S. stock market at all time highs, more people than ever are set to spend their hard earned dollars on a much-deserved vacation. But where will people travel to this year? A few predictions have just been revealed, and below we’ll go through some of the most popular new locales savvy travelers are expected to try out in 2017.

Kanazawa, Japan

Located on Japan’s western coast, Kanazawa has seen a huge uptick in travelers spending the night or two in recent years. That’s mainly due to the completion of a bullet-train line (Hokuriku Shinkansen) extension that now makes the city only a 2½-hour ride away from the capital city Tokyo. If you love history, then you’ll love strolling through Kanazawa. Many historians consider Kanazawa the best-preserved Edo-period city in the entire nation. The Japanese flock to this city on holiday each year to take in the stunning architecture and the delectable seafood. Just a few of the must see attractions here include the Nagamachi Samurai District, the Ninja Temple, and the gorgeous Kenroku-en Garden.

Hampi, India

Located in southern India, the city of Hampi is expected to see a huge boost in tourism this year due to the opening of the high-end Orange County resort. Hampi used to be the capital of the powerful Vijayanagara Empire in the 14th century, and many ruins from temples in that era can still be marveled at. The new Orange County resort is set to give visitors a truly palatial experience, plus it’s conveniently located only a few minutes away from the major UNESCO-recognized monuments. Thanks to this resort, more and more tourists interested in ancient Indian ruins will most likely flock to this region in 2017.

Devon, England

Tourists interested in experiencing real rural life in the U.K. should look into taking a trip to Devon. Located in England’s West Country, this area is set to experience a boom in travel in 2017 due to a number of high profile hotels opening their doors to the public. The most highly anticipated hotel in the region is the Lympstone Manor, which is set to open on April 3rd, 2017. The Lympstone Manor property includes 28 acres of gardens, 21 guestrooms, a restaurant, and a high-quality wine cellar. Everything one needs for a perfectly relaxing trip in the English countryside.

Belfast, Northern Ireland

Although it doesn’t have the popularity of London or Edinburgh, Belfast is slowly becoming a hot destination for younger travelers in the United Kingdom. Today Belfast is less affected by its violent past and more well known for its strong arts community and vibrant pub scene. A few restaurants in Belfast have recently earned Michelin stars, including OX and EIPIC. In addition to the restaurants and pubs, Belfast has a great street art community. There are even official street art tours offered for those interested in taking an alternative look at this wonderful capital of Northern Ireland.
